Analysis of the Impact of Hotel Room Outer Door Opening hours on Fire

Consequences Based on Chinese Standards

Abstract

We purposed to evaluate the optimal fire evacuation strategy by analysing the smoke dispersion state in a

high-rise hotel fire in Shenyang, China. Using PyroSim software, we simulated four scenarios of holiday door

opening (immediately after fire, 120 seconds after fire, 210 seconds after fire, and 300 seconds after fire)

based on the values of heat release rates specified in Chinese standards. Scenario 2 (opening the hotel room

door 120 seconds after the fire alarm) was found to be the most effective.
