Abstract
This paper focuses on a hospital building as the research object and investigates the impact of different
sprinklers on the Available Safe Evacuation Time (ASET) after a fire. According to Chinese standards,
sprinklers are categorized into fast response sprinkler, special response sprinkler, and standard response
sprinkler based on their sensitivity. And we designed four scenarios: (1) no automatic sprinkler system, (2) an
automatic sprinkler system with fast response sprinklers, (3) an automatic sprinkler system with special
response sprinklers, and (4) an automatic sprinkler system with standard response sprinklers.
